Qualcomm, the company that supplies many of today's processors in mobile devices, recently launched a new processor, the Snapdragon 820. This is an upgrade from the very common 810 used commonly in today's devices. The key improvements is a faster 2.2 quad-core CPU, that is still 64-bit. On top of that, we have Adreno 530 graphics, which should be a big difference from the Adreno 430's graphics. The new soc will also support the newest Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0, which has a chance in beating the industry's fastest quick charge on the market today.
The main competitor for the Snapdragon 820 would be Samsung's chip, the Exynos. The rumored Exynos 8890 has up to 2.3 Ghz, and performance benchmark scores shows that it may offer performance more powerful than the Snapdragon 820. Of course, we don't know the exact specifications of the Soc as of yet since it hasn't been released.
