Today, Motorola released a brand new smartphone with increased reliability, strong battery life, and powerful CPU and memory options.
Technical Specifications
This phone is running a Snapdragon 810 Soc, easily one of the most powerful CPUs in a smartphone. It's also the one used in the Nexus 6P. It also includes 3GB of RAM, options for 32/64GB storage, and even Micro-SD expansion to up to 2TB. It has a long lasting battery, which lasts about 48 hours of mixed usage, with 3760 mAh. Supported is also Qi charging. The rear camera is 21 MP, with a front camera of 5MP. Last but definitely not least is the display. It features a super AMOLED 1440p Quad HD display, and is also claimed to be shatterproof by Motorola. (more information on that later)
Design
With these powerful specifications, the device is thicker than many phones on the market. However, I don't see that as a big problem since many people will purchase an add on case for their phone anyways. I don't see the need for this device to have a case, as it already features a water repellent nano coating, a shatterproof display, and a strong aluminum build. It will also be easier to hold as this curved back will allow a stronger grip on the device.
Shatterproof Display
According to Motorola, this phone won't shatter if it is dropped, unlike many other phones. They stand behind this that they offer a 4-year guarantee if anything goes wrong with the display. I haven't had my hands on it yet, but I hope to do a torture test on it soon! Watch the video below to learn more about this amazing technology.
Drawbacks and Conclusions
This phone is great, no doubt. It has powerful cameras, a robust build and design, great battery life, and even strong power and performance. However, with all Droid Turbos', this is only available exclusively with Verizon. If you have Verizon, and is interested, it will start at $624 off contract. However, if you don't have Verizon as a carrier, you will have to wait for a Moto X to hopefully bring these features in the future.
