Tech Specs
Below are the full list of tech specs from Lenovo
Design
The design of the Yoga 900 is very similar to last year's Yoga 3 Pro, which I reviewed a year ago, and can be found here: http://www.techreviewed.org/blog/lenovoreviewid2982. Just like last year, the beautiful watchband hinge is here again on the Yoga 900 again. The hinge is now colored to the color you choose. For example, my unit is gold, so the hinge is also gold. It looks gorgeous! Below are some beautiful picture of it!
The Yoga 3 Pro's watchband hinge wobbled a bit, and it seems like Lenovo made this year's Yoga 900 more stable. You can still hear some wobble when touching the watchband hinge, but that's about it. It's still very sturdy, and doesn't feel cheap.
The outer casing is made of magnesium alloy, which feels strong, sturdy, and as a plus, doesn't attract fingerprints much.

The Yoga 900, has 4 modes, just like all the Yogas before it. Those are laptop mode, stand mode (perfect for watching movies), tent mode (perfect for presentations and movies), and tablet mode (perfect for games or ebook reading).
Lenovo used a new material for the inside of the laptop. The material is very similar to last year's material, but it is now a flat surface, compared to last years texted surface. This new material doesn't attract fingerprints, which is a great thing.
Ports
Lenovo made some changes to the ports on the Yoga 900, compared to last year. Just like last year, there is still a SD card reader, headphone/microphone jack, rotation lock, power button, and the OneKey recovery Novo button.
Last year's Yoga 3 Pro had an Micro-HDMI port, which the Yoga 900 now has USB Type C port. Also, last year's Yoga 3 Pro had volume rockers, but this year's Yoga 900 has the F row of keyboard, which compensates for that.

Performance
The Yoga 900 has an Intel Core i7 processor, which is a major performance boost from last year's Yoga 900. Playing high intensive graphic games such as Asphalt 8 was great, multitasking with many tabs open was seamless, and even watching multiple 4K videos at a time from YouTube was crystal clear. Last year's Intel Core M would have issues and stutter when having multiple tabs open, so it's a welcome change.
Cooling
The Yoga 900 has two fans to cool the Intel Core processor and RAM. On average, the computer is around 80 degrees, but when playing high intensive games, the computer gets up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit. The dual fan system compensates for the Intel Core i7 processor, so Lenovo was able to maintain similar temperatures to last year's Yoga 3 Pro.
Display
The screen resolution on the display is beautiful. It is a 3200 by 1800 display, which looks great, even with your eyes just inches away from the screen. The colors are vibrant and accurate, but is a little bit on the cool side. This depends on personal preference, and of course, a display calibrator can change the display colors. The Yoga 3 Pro, which had the same display, had display scaling issues, with many apps not scaled correctly, and would be very small. Because Windows 10 is now preinstalled, display scaling is less of an issue, with apps running with the correct scaling, and looks great.
Keyboard and Trackpad
The keyboard and trackpad are clickier than last years keyboard and trackpad. It gives you a better feedback when typing, and compensates for the less key travel. Also, the F row is back, which was missing on the Yoga 3 Pro. On here gives you options for screen brightness adjust, volume adjust, and much more. The metal ring surrounding the trackpad is also a good finish, and looks premium.
Battery Life
The Yoga 900 has a 50% larger battery than last year's Yoga 3 Pro. Lenovo estimates about 9 hours of battery life, but I am able to get 6 hours of gaming and web browsing, which is pretty intensive. Just web browsing and word document editing should result in about 9 hours of battery life.
Conclusion
The Yoga 900 is Lenovo's best convertible yet. It features great performance, a decent display, refined keyboard, and is simply a fine machine.
